One can combine Latin layer with phonetic layout on OS side, I tried that when testing Kvant layout.

Chording
Tensor is one of layouts with Þ key, it can return either th digraph or þ character depending on configuration.

OAIN works too, it's used in Aries layout and it indeed helps to reduce redirects at the price of higher load on left pinky.

Default layout is somewhat close to what you see above, but there are dozens of optimized layouts that one can try on this board. Some are recent additions, like Orthostat and Rain.

There is Nari layout on the same branch and in Hands Down Alt-nx layout some keys change state depending on predecessor.
