Every Door – OpenStreetMap editor for POIs and entrances
EverDoor uses https://github.com/openstreetmap/id-tagging-schema to facilitate mapping, meaning some suitable tags to the main tag are automatically suggested.

How to suggest a change to the tag labels in the openstreetmap.org (iD) editor? I think "unmaintained track" should be "track" or "track (maintained or unmaintained)".
As per my comment in your previous posting - https://github.com/openstreetmap/id-tagging-schema/pull/288 is where this is being discussed.

How do I tag gated forest roads like these? They're open to the public, just not to private vehicles
See https://github.com/openstreetmap/id-tagging-schema/pull/288 if you want to add any comments (but be polite, it's amazing how many people lose all sense of consideration when encountering an issue tracker...)

Nice to see this surge in use of parking_space=disabled. More than doubled in the last year!
The presets are managed at https://github.com/openstreetmap/id-tagging-schema now.

Quick JOSM tip: add the name suggestion list as a set of your tag presets
The Name suggestion list is a collection of commonly used feature tags, to ensure consistency when mapping. If you've used iD or EveryDoor, you've encountered it.
- When the iD gets updated to use NSI recent adds?

oil change place
If your editor supports name-suggestion-index (iD does), it should auto-tag for you when picking a well known company. So you could just enter something like JiffyLube and see that it uses shop=car_repair and use that tag for the shop you’re adding/modifying.

Franchises
Why must there be another way? If you mean it's hard to contribute to, it does take a little bit of technical knowledge, but if you don't know how to do it, just post what you want to do on the "issues" or "discussion" section of the NSI github page and someone will help out.
