If you're down to play a very punishing rogue-like, Infra Arcana has a similar item/gameplay progression, especially if you play a rogue-ish class (which has a perk increasing item drops). Firearms don't necessarily become plentiful but they're critical in a pinch.

In your opinion what roguelike allows for the most creative solutions ?
IVAN is another one that does that kind of thing, but is pretty good instead of awful. XD It's hard as hell though.
