Switching from Windows 10/11 to Linux. I have a few questions.
https://github.com/Fmstrat/wintile As far as the second one, should be built-in. Also you'll probably start getting more used to working in a terminal where launching apps is just typing the name much like this provides.

Looking for a FancyZones-like tiling manager for Linux
This Gnome extension has some of what you want, but no stacking and no specifying positions for certain programs.

Help an i3wm user migrate the workflow to Gnome Shell
and that's pretty much it. Now that I have an ultrawide monitor i use the wintile extension to rearrange windows (if you're on gnome 40, use the code from this pr: https://github.com/Fmstrat/wintile/pull/60 )
