Humble Bundle: https://github.com/xtream1101/humblebundle-downloader (I do plan to make a script for it, like I did with lgogdownloader), note that Trove is partially broken, so I plan to test something else.

Itch has their own app and so I presume they want folks using that instead of rolling their own.

I'm somewhat new to programming, and I am trying to understand how larger projects are organized. I am looking at the Itch.io desktop application found here: https://github.com/itchio/itch3 projects | /r/learnprogramming | 19 Nov 2022

My Ultimate Steam Deck guide after being able to use it for about a month

itcho.io has a desktop app that is available for Linux. It is a convenient way to access and install games from your itch.io library, but as of the writing of this guide, it doesn't seem possible to launch the app from within SteamOS. Attempting to do so with result in it loading for a while before closing without any sort of error message.
I added the itch.io desktop app to steam library, but I'm unable to launch it from SteamOS

Someone started the development of an Itch Flatpak: https://github.com/gjpin/itch-flatpak that would definitely work in gaming mode. He tried to discuss with the Itch developers before submitting it to FlatHub (so that it would appear in the Discover store) but they don't seem to care much: https://github.com/itchio/itch/issues/2793 Hopefully he'll submit it to FlatHub anyway soon.

I don't disagree with your point, but itch.io's client supports installing Linux games and is even open source. It can even install Windows games and run them through WINE.
