How to Edit index.js file
link Plugin: homebridge-lifx-lan The issue is, the accessory shows it's out of date. It is not. To fix this: -find your index.js file ( should be somewhere like this - /usr/local/lib/node_modules/homebridge-Lifx-lan) -go to line 933 in a plain text editor (Atom works great but don't use the native text edit app) -change "date.major ... data.minor" to firmware version 2.69 -save and restart HomeBridge

Tuya device response very slow in Homebridge
Use LAN/local network based ones such as this one instead. Local connection also means much faster respond times.

is it possible to make tuya devices local? aka plug bulbs smart doorbell smart floodlight if so how im stuck
I used github.com/iRayanKhan/homebridge-tuya but some devices did not work.

Tuya Local
So with regards local control using iRayanKhan's plugin. It's not actively supported currently, last update was June 2021. Also, the github page does say it supports fans, but when I try and configure this in homebridge, the pulldown menu to select device type doesn't include fans. I might try and configure via the json.

https://github.com/iRayanKhan/homebridge-tuya is local and works fine. It doesn’t need updating because it has been solid for a long time and supports the latest features like adaptive lighting.
