ha-floorplan

Bring new life to Home Assistant. By mapping entities to a SVG-object, you're able to control devices, show states, calling services - and much more. Add custom styling on top, to visualize whatever you can think of. Your imagination just became the new limit. (by ExperienceLovelace)

The HomeAssistant wormhole is a deep one, and the learning curve is steep. But it's definitely worth all the pain. I currently have all our lights, doors, blinds, robot vacuum, tv's, and 3d printer integrated with HA. Looks like there's already Wyze device support for HomeAssistant as well if you wanted to start before upgrading your devices, to see how you like it. Also, I don't know much about Wyze devices, but a majority of internet connected smart devices utilize a ESP32 board or similar. You can usually flash them and run open firmware such as WLED. I currently run a few of those boards with DHT22 temp/humidity sensors to get the temp readings you saw. Like I said, the wormhole is deep, the learning curve is steep, but I think it is by far the best option when it comes to smart homes.

As for home automation, I think you meant home assistant, if not correct me. I found this through a quick search: https://github.com/JoshuaMulliken/ha-wyzeapi. Might be helpful.

I haven't had much experience with it but you could give https://github.com/JoshuaMulliken/ha-wyzeapi which is an add on for home assistant which allows you to unofficially control / view cameras. Of course if wyze goes offline or your network goes offline this extension won't work as it's cloudbased.

Gotta love open source, here ya go. Seems like it'll integrate with the cameras and lights, and at least normal doors. If there as an API for it, there's probably and HA integration for it.

I would recommend checking out a few YouTube videos on how to setup home assistant with a raspberry pi. Once that is setup, you can use the Wyze integration ( https://github.com/JoshuaMulliken/ha-wyzeapi) to setup some native stuff but you will need to install the custom RTSP software (https://support.wyze.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026245231-Wyze-Cam-RTSP) on the camera and set it up with your home assistant.

I'm using the user created Wyze API for HA, and it's great! But still doesn't work when the cloud is unresponsive. (https://github.com/JoshuaMulliken/ha-wyzeapi)

The home automation floorplan stuff was a fun project, but I don't really use it. I found that it's not as useful as a simple dashboard page with plain buttons and cards. But it was fun to work on just as a hobby, like painting models or setting up a model train set.

Hey all, I just wanted to share the culmination of my six month project. Six months ago, I saw a floorplan dashboard and thought it was really cool, so I embarked on a journey of my own. The Smart Home itself is ran using Home Assistant OS, an OS specifically for smart homes. From there, I spent hundreds of hours integrating my already existing devices, and creating automations as I went along. With smart fans, smart blinds, smart lights, and even temperature sensors, my smart home has grown a lot. With everything integrated, I returned to my main goal, of making a super intuitive, user friendly dashboard. The idea was to see a light on in a room, and touch the room to turn it off. I was able to use Floorplan for HA and floorplanner.com to create this dashboard. I have included light animation and control, fan animation and control, weather animation, temperature readings from DHT22 and Wemos D1 minis scatter throughout, multiroom music control, blind control and animation, and a mail counter to keep track of how full the mailbox is. Feel free to reach out with any questions, I am super proud of this and I love answering questions and helping other out with theirs.

Lol I can't try. Smart home is running Home Assistant OS and the dashboard was created using Floorplan for HA. That's the simplest way to put it, but tbh I have hundreds, if not thousands, of hours into this smart home. I'm happy to guide you and help with any questions, but I'm not sure how to fit six months of learning into a single comment. Take a look and feel free to reach out. You're going to want either a VM or a PC as the brains behind your smart home. You will the install Home Assistant OS. Once there, you'll have to Google all your devices to figure out how to integrate them with HA. Once you have everything integrated and talking to HA, you can follow this guide to setup the floorplan dashboard.

The interface is using this integration. I created the model using floorplanner and then used Inkscape to do the svg work.
