How to make an album of episodes
The absolute easiest way is to use some form of podcatcher with https://awk.space/tal.xml. I use greg for Linux, but there are a lot of options out there.

pocketcasts alternative?
I had almost the same setup, but was no longer satisfied with Podgrab. Often the automatism does not work and there was no helpful error message. Also, the application is way too bulky for this task. I now use a CLI tool for this: https://github.com/manolomartinez/greg

Is there a place to download a lot of episodes at once?
You can add https://awk.space/tal.xml to a podcatcher and get them all. I use Greg for Linux. It python, so it should work with any OS. Any podcasting application will be able to pull everything with this feed.

Tired of waiting on Plex - any recommendations for a podcast aggregator?
For automated download of podcasts, I recommend a lean command line tool. Once configured, it does what it's supposed to. I use GREG, but Podget looks good too.
