How I do my GraphQL with curl
There are some tools for GraphQL queries one of them is hasura's graphcurl which has autocompetion and provides prompt for query construction. Check it out, since it might be what you need.

What monitoring tool do you use or recommend?
jq is pretty amazing. If you are comfortable with its jquery-like CSS selector syntax, then I should also mention a couple similar cli utilities that apply it to HTML: htmlp and pup.
