Do you get blank screens during video playback? You can use an extension like Caffeine or Espresso to disable screen blanking. If you prefer an extension-less route then you can edit the mpv.desktop file. For the Exec line you only need to add gnome-session-inhibit

Other suggested must have apps: -Flameshot (best screenshotting tool ever! can be set up with a custom keybind) -VLC for media player -Two gnome extensions: Espresso for a toggle button in your top right menu to disable sleep, and Bluetooth Quick Connect for easy on/off bluetooth device toggles in the dropdown menu.

Media Controls Don't Show up in GNOME
afaik mpv doesn't support that itself but you can get most of the media control functionality with the mpv-mpris plugin

gnome-mpv/celluloid: please implement a one click gui option to mute e.g. right click on volume button
As I usually run mpv from the CLI or another program and control it via the keyboard, that doesn't sound like the wrapper adds anything I'd personally have a use for. BTW, controlling plain mpv via MPRIS just requires the mpv-mpris plugin to be installed.
