  • Alternative to Gnome Cast-To-TV?

There is a pretty cool Gnome extension called Cast to TV (https://github.com/Rafostar/gnome-shell-extension-cast-to-tv). It allows you to cast Media (and desktop too with another add-on ) to a Chromecast device. Sadly, it only works on Gnome. Is there any alternative for that that works on KDE? I tried just to use Chrome to casty desktop but that does not work on Wayland. Thank you!

-Improved OSK: This extension adds extra keys to the onscreen keyboard, a button in the panel and you can make it bigger or smaller (depending on your screen size and scaling factor, the normal OSK might be very small)

If you want wo stick to GNOME (it still has the best touch experience of all desktop DEs in my experience) you could try the improved-osk-extension. It can make the OSK much bigger and has some other neat features. Another touch friendly DE is Phosh which is actually developed for Linux phones and completely optimized for Touch although it doesn't support everything you would expect from a desktop DE since it's mainly optimized for phones (and tablets). You could also try KDE Plasma Mobile but in my experience it wasn't reliable and has many bugs and crashed a lot.

The newest 'Improved OSK' is made by NickShymrev and he's actively working on a Rewrite for GNOME 43 which will use the terminal mode of the keyboard to be more stable and will include the option to force the osk making the 'Force OSK' extension not needed. You can find the issue here: https://github.com/nick-shmyrev/improved-osk-gnome-ext/issues/30 and the 43 branch here: https://github.com/nick-shmyrev/improved-osk-gnome-ext/tree/gnome_43_rewrite

Try the gnome 43 rewrite. It works, but there's no way to remove the text suggestions
