What software do you use on Linux to create bootable USBs?
Me, I used to setup ISO booting more manually based on notes from Ubuntu forums, but these days I mostly just use GLIM: https://github.com/thias/glim (Though it hasn't been updated in a long time and some distros are incompatible now, I can generally make it work for what I care about)

Which is lighter: dual booting or usb linux? (I have win10 too)
I'd recommend this project for setting up a Live USB to try different Linux ISOs: https://github.com/thias/glim

Change RPM install destination using Yum/Dnf
Packages that install to /opt/rh are part of Software Collections (http://softwarecollections.org/). They do not install to the root filesystem because they would conflict with a package that is part of the base OS, and (often) would break the ABI guarantee. They're meant to be add-ons that are "activated" as needed.
