Any Idea why extruded movement is rough?
That's all cool and nice. But even an 8 bit board can do linear movements. Add some linear advance calculations and it still works fine. Do it over USB and it still works fine. I should know, I've been doing it for years. In fact, I even wrote a streaming tool for it after Prusa removed that function from their slicer.

3D printed a large map of DC (and parts of NOVA)
Thank you! I used this tool to convert lidar data to .stl: https://github.com/furrysalamander/mini-map-maker I'm using a Monoprice Maker Select V2 at 0.15mm; more or less the default settings in Cura with 18% gyroid infill.

You asked and I listened! I've released a new version of my lidar scan to 3D printable map making tool with added support for external files, LAZ files, and a whole slew of bugfixes!
Back in February, I released a tool I wrote called mini-map-maker for generating 3D printable models from LIDAR scans. The community here had a lot of great feedback, and many of you tried it. Unfortunately, it was thrown together in a weekend or two, and had a lot of bugs.
