srsly though, why is reporting in minecraft "ruined the game", but reporting in reddit is ok?
you are in the full capability to report someone for saying that though, because others could’ve found it violent and extreme. plus it’s not only yelling that’s bad, but you can be reported for a lot of confusing situations, such as: killing yourself to go back home with keep inventory on can be reported for suicidal actions, greifing someone’s base can be seen as bullying, and there will be tons of faulty reports to the point where the chat reporting won’t even serve a purpose of good, but a purpose of a weapon. there are even mods that can alter and utilize be inconsistencies of chat reporting (https://github.com/nodusclient/gaslight) that will end up making mojang remove mods entirely to fix their stupid problematic update.

This message appears every time I log into my server, how do I fix or remove this? [java] 1.19.1
It can still be abused.

Highly advocate for admins not to update to 1.19.1 for several reasons.
Release 1.19.1 has several player security issues that allow players to falsify chat reports via gaslight, plus the general community either will reluctantly or outright will not update (which they rightfully should not). I highly encourage not updating until mojang either removes or modifies chat reporting to be more in favor of server admins.

Unrelease the chat reporting feature. (**please dont downvote i have valid points i want to address**)
chat reporting definitely needs to exist but its clearly not ready in its current place. there are all ready three chat reporting mods that mess with it and can abuse it. 1 2 3. so heres my suggestion: make it like the recent combat updates but a lot more frequent. make it so that every week or two theres a chat reporting snapshot where players can test and report bugs and exploits with it so it can be the best system it possibly can. this makes players more comfortable with it, fixes bugs, and just overall makes it better if they listen to constructive feedback. once its in a good state they will just release it in whatever the next version is, whether that be 1.20, 1.20.1 or even 1.21.

Minecraft: Java Edition 1.19.1 Is Out
I think this also happened with No Telemetry.
-
I feel like im going to stop playing during 1.19
Assuming you play Java Edition, you don't have to update to 1.19. You can stay on an old version. And even if you play newer versions, you can ignore most of the new features and disable the anti-features (No Telemetry and No Chat Reports).

In-Game Chat Moderation and Reporting
Illegal? Mojang/Microsoft only receives chat messages when a report occurs. If no one makes a report, there's no chat monitoring (There's still other telemetry, see the No Telemetry mod.).

The Metaverse Is Already Here. It’s Minecraft
This freedom to use old versions sounds good. But of Minecraft's 100M+ users, what percentage know this? What percentage just automatically update to the newest version and don't explore the mod scene?
I just read that Mojang added no opt-out telemetry to version 21w38a.[1]
How many Minecrafters are savvy enough to understand that this happened, and the long-term implications?
I initially tried to follow guides and "mods" to disable Win 10 telemetry but eventually gave up because MS changes how telemetry is disabled with every single update.
