Get ERPNext running with minimal fuss
I ended up writing a small bash script to assist with getting it running using the upstream compose files.

Frappe Cloud is by far the easiest way to run an ERPNext instance of you're okay with shared hosting. It's a Frappe framework-based app hosting service from the developers of ERPNext, and it supports data file imports from other instances of ERPNext:
- Frappe Cloud: https://frappecloud.com
In addition to the Frappe Bench setup process, Frappe procides instructions dfor swlf-hosting ERPNext with Docker and Kubernetes:
- Docker: https://github.com/frappe/frappe_docker
- Kubernetes: https://helm.erpnext.com
There's also a third-party Docker image from pipech that's easier to setup, but it's not always up to date:
- Third-party Docker (pipech): https://hub.docker.com/r/pipech/erpnext-docker-debian
Bitnami packages ERPNext in single-tier (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and virtual machine (local computer) offerings:

To anyone reading this, if you onpy need software for accountind and not an entire enterprise resource planning (ERP) suite, do yourself a favor and follow the advice in TFA to use GnuCash.

Can someone help me with erpnext on docker?
Yeah, sorry about that, you need to clone the repo and setup the ~/gitops directory first. That .yml file I posted gets generated automatically by following the steps in single-server-example. I didn't set up everything listed though. If you start at the top of that page, here are the steps I took:

Can't get Frappe/ERPNext running in Kubernetes
Hey everyone, I'm trying to setup ERPNext using the Frappe Docker repository as a starting point to configure the Frappe framework and automatically setup ERPNext as a site in Frappe. I figured based on the compose.yml and pwd.yml examples in the repository I simply need two initContainers that initialize bench and set up a site with ERPNext as the app, but I have the feeling that Kubernetes isn't calling the commands/args the way I specified them in the init containers.

Author here. This is wrong information. Not sure where you are getting this from.
Also as I mentioned above, docker installs are actively supported.

Show HN: Paisa – Open-Source Personal Finance Manager
Just FYI if you're used to beancount & fava I started prototyping a more integrated experience for it: https://github.com/seltzered/beancolage . Still early days though.

> Maybe this was primarily done based on the users being comfortable with a GUI driven system?
FWIW I started prototyping a plaintext accounting 'app' that combines a popular plaintext accounting system (beancount) with the most used web frontend for it (fava) - it's called beancolage and makes use of eclipse theia (vscode-like experience): https://github.com/seltzered/beancolage
What are some alternatives?
frappe - Low code web framework for real world applications, in Python and Javascript
paisa - Paisa – Personal Finance Manager. https://paisa.fyi demo: https://demo.paisa.fyi
helm - Helm Chart Repository for Frappe/ERPNext
bursar - SimpleFIN + Google Sheets expense-tracking tool inspired by Mintable
KubeArmor - Runtime Security Enforcement System. Workload hardening/sandboxing and implementing least-permissive policies made easy leveraging LSMs (BPF-LSM, AppArmor).
finance-dl - Tools for automatically downloading/scraping personal financial data.

ERPNext - Free and Open Source Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
beancount-import - Web UI for semi-automatically importing external data into beancount
dockerfile - Dockerfile best-practices for writing production-worthy Docker images.
