Task management at emacs org-mode level in neovim
Not much to say, it's a {https://github.com/GothenburgBitFactory/taskwarrior}(command line utility for task management) with a lot of features. I like it because I tend to spend more time on desktop than mobile, although there are a {https://github.com/bgregos/foreground}(couple) of {https://f-droid.org/es/packages/kvj.taskw/}(apps) for Android users. It allows synchronization between devices by setting up your own {https://taskwarrior.org/docs/taskserver/setup/}(taskserver) or using {https://inthe.am/}(third party tools).

Does taskd actually serve any meaningful purpose for a single user?
Have you tried out foreground? I recently switched to that and so far I am liking it. However, beware of this particularly annoying bug which is being actively worked on.

Taskwarrior seems useless without a mobile app. What am I not understanding?
The most active Android app that I'm aware of (that is also open source) is Foreground: https://github.com/bgregos/foreground

This has been my only issue with using Taskwarrior. There are a few android apps (the quality of which I cannot speak to) but not having an iOS app means I end up missing lots of things. https://github.com/blampe/taskwarrior-reminders was probably the closest I got, but it had some issues with some of my tasks. I miss having a single good place to put all my tasks.
