What do you use for git integration in neovim?
I use gitsigns for linewise operations (blame, reset, etc), and a floating terminal (toggleterm) for everything else. flatten.nvim also helps with nested nvim instances.
-
Which file explorer do you use?
I don't. I use a terminal, and https://github.com/willothy/flatten.nvim
-
Terminal filemanager that works good with neovim
You can also use the built-in terminal and use any terminal file manager you want. nvim-unception or flatten.nvim can be used to prevent nesting.
-
When I notice that I can open another nvim in the floating terminal... I don't know why I feel it funny LOLLLLLLLL
Check out flatten.nvim! (shameless self-promo but it stops nested instances from opening)
-
flatten.nvim - open files from a neovim terminal in your current neovim instance - no more nested neovim sessions!
Here is the link to the issue: https://github.com/willothy/flatten.nvim/issues/19

Best way to manipulate files inside neovim?
You can ranger inside of Neovim with this plugin rnvimr. Check it out. Neo-tree is another plugin that I like as a file manager. And also mini.files is another option if you prefer a more minimal approach and the ability to manipulate files like you edit a normal Neovim buffer. I'm pretty sure there are other great options out there as well, these are just my personal preferences.
-
main file explorer plugin replacement?
https://github.com/kevinhwang91/rnvimr is pretty good, it opens ranger in a floating terminal and takes care of file renaming and deletion, etc.
-
What plugins do you use to manage work across multiple files?
Ranger inside Neovim for when I need it
- what is this plugiin?
-
[Plugin] ranger.nvim
This plugin is unique from the other alternatives such as ranger.vim and rnvimr in that my plugin has no dependencies besides ‘ranger’ and written in 100% lua.
-
Which file explorer do you use?
chadtree for dealing with files in the current project & Rnvimr (which basically integrates Ranger) when I want to work with files all over the disk.
-
VSCode like file preview in neovim?
Although Ranger is a terminal application, you can use it in neovim via some plugins like rnvimr.
-
Am I missing something with "move file" in neotree?
If you don't mind switch to another plugin I highly recommend rnvimr to use ranger, a real-world, feature-complete file amanger perfecrly integrated in nvim.
- Using neovim without a file tree plugin
- What file explorer do you use?
What are some alternatives?
lf.nvim - Lf file manager for Neovim (in Lua)
nvim-neoclip.lua - Clipboard manager neovim plugin with telescope integration
nvim-unception - A plugin that leverages Neovim's built-in RPC functionality to simplify opening files from within Neovim's terminal emulator without nesting sessions.
chadtree - File manager for Neovim. Better than NERDTree.
vifm.vim - Vim plugin that allows use of vifm as a file picker
ranger - A VIM-inspired filemanager for the console
neovim-remote - :ok_hand: Support for --remote and friends.
lf - Terminal file manager
netrw.nvim - It's not because we use netrw that we cannot have nice things!
vim-floaterm - :computer: Terminal manager for (neo)vim
neo-tree.nvim - Neovim plugin to manage the file system and other tree like structures.
