fichub.net VS fanfictionnet_ff_proxy

Anyway, it has been unknown for years what the actual word count of the fic is, but I think I may have worked it out. Using this site called FicHub: https://fichub.net/ I downloaded the entire work as a .epub. Then I put it into Calibre and installed a word counter plugin for Calibre. It is known to be fairly(?) accurate.

im getting it too, which is weird that i am. luckily, i can use fichub to download what fanfics i got bookmarked and read them that way

Try FicHub if you have the full URL. Supports many sites.

I’m really sorry. If you have URLs for fics, you might be able to download them here: https://fichub.net. This site seems to cache fics people have downloaded previously, so if someone had downloaded it before today it should be there. I know it’s not the same though since you can’t browse.

And there is another workaround … https://github.com/nsapa/fanfictionnet_ff_proxy … works for me, but I admit it is seriously hackers—only solution.

https://github.com/JimmXinu/FanFicFare together with https://github.com/nsapa/fanfictionnet_ff_proxy … yeah, not for the weak-willed. Also, alias ff_cache=fanficfare -o use_browser_cache=true -o use_browser_cache_only=true works (with proper configuration).

Downloading EPubs from FFnet is incredibly painful (I use https://github.com/nsapa/fanfictionnet_ff_proxy and https://github.com/JimmXinu/FanFicFare, but it is really not for faint hearted), but it seems https://ff2ebook.com/ still works, so it is possible to download EPub even from FFnet and then let it be read by EPub reader. I use free (both as in beer and as in freedom) https://f-droid.org/en/packages/org.coolreader.fdroid/ and it works with Google TTS just fine.

There also is https://github.com/nsapa/fanfictionnet_ff_proxy which is fully automatic, but slow and a hassle to set up

I know how can download FFnet (https://github.com/JimmXinu/FanFicFare and https://github.com/nsapa/fanfictionnet_ff_proxy), but it is certainly not for faint-hearted. There was some website which did it for you, but I cannot recall the address right now, because I don’t care about it too much.
