Cannot fix keyboard layout switching.
Recently, I installed fcitx5 for something unrelated (Japanese input) and it magically fixed the issue. Whatever keyboard layout I have set will be universal across my machine. However, it created another issue where I can only switch my layout when I'm focused in a text box somewhere. Been trying to fix the problem for days now reading countless wikis and forums. Only other person I could find with the same issue was here, but I had already been using their solution since I started using fcitx5 (and obviously still have the issue).

Can't figure out keyboard layouts
I had already been using the method described as the solution here since I installed fcitx5. I'm really at a loss here. I have no clue how keyboard input works under the hood and I've been reading wikis and forums for days trying to figure out how this stuff works.

Fcitx5 has now a Wayland launcher
libexec/fcitx5-wayland-launcher was added recently. It's probably better to use this to start Fcitx from Sway's config or a user systemd service (wanted by sway-session.target).

Key remapping to vim navigation and more
I use keyd (https://github.com/rvaiya/keyd) and what I've done is remapped CapsLock down holding to a modifier key that allows me to use vim navigation and more. So when I press CapsLock down I can use jkl; for navigation. I've also added u and i as page up and down. For browser back and forward use n and m. Just pressing CapsLock acts as an esc press.

This is great. Is it possible to somehow use it with keyd, as I don't use autohotkey?

Espanso incompatible with keyd key remapping
I'm using both [keyd](https://github.com/rvaiya/keyd) to remap some keys (Hold Capslock -> Hold Ctrl, and Press Capslock -> Press Esc) and espanso to insert some snippet.

Toward a More Useful Keyboard
On Linux, I use keyd[1] and while I understand that keyd itelf could never run on the Mac, I'd love something that could take my keyd conf and make it work (even approximately) on the Mac.
