Water Meter Consumption
I did this way first but It did not answer my main problem: I need a on_turn_off event to do a test (see https://github.com/hugokernel/esphome-water-meter/blob/master/watermeter.yaml#L317) and when you use effects, on_turn_off is never called.

Keeping track of motor steps between reboots.
I wrote THIS a long while back, I'm using it on 4 blinds and it never looses it's position.

I remade The Hook Up's motorized blinds with ESPHome to make some customizations
I figured i could solve ALL of this if i could remake this using ESPHome instead of the Arduino sketch. After a day of tinkering and reviewing this post, this post and this sample code from github. I was able to get this to work flawlessly.
