Third, I can’t install Haskell packages at my company. Like Elm, we rewrite our SSL certificates. When the language doesn’t allow you to bypass this, like Node does ( process.env["NODE_TLS_REJECT_UNAUTHORIZED"] = 0 ), then you simply can’t install packages. You’re then left with 2 choices. Use ANOTHER language to install packages for you, or just not use it. Both are disappointing.

If you want to quickly do some small projects, maybe try Elm. You'll have code running and easy to use in no time. There's a nice tool (create-elm-app) to setup a progressive Web app, I used it to make several small applications available on my smartphone.

Sprinkle some Elm in your React
After being out of the Elm world for about a year, I decided this weekend to try it out again. I created a new application (using create-elm-app) and got going. After a few minutes, the joy of writing Elm was back. The helpful error messages, the flexibility of describing data in the type system - it was fantastic!
