I'd also recommend HOTAS and Elite Dangerous, but if you just want to try it first there is a mod for Elite Dangerous that adds support for VR controllers. I don't know whether it still works well, but I have used it a lot in the past and it was surprisingly good. HOTAS is of course much better, but the virtual controls work fine and to me are much more fun than using a gamepad.

This project might be of interest.

It's another low barrier to entry option for 'VR controls' in a cockpit settings; virtual cockpit interfaces. They are essentially a 3D overlay, where you position the controls over their in-game counterpart, and will allow you to interact with the cockpit without the VR animations. https://github.com/dantman/elite-vr-cockpit I think a similar system could work nicely if VR controls was a dev goal in the early phases.

Would this https://github.com/mhwlng/streamdeck-elite work on a razer stream controller? Or only on streamdeck itself? I've never used one of those systems.

Good day Commanders, I'm wondering if anyone has any experience installing the ED Stream Deck Plugin, posted about on Reddit here...And can you instruct me? I'm new to playing Elite on PC and using the Stream Deck and the available documentation on GitHub seems written for someone with more experience than me.
