The number of mentions indicates the total number of mentions that we've tracked plus the number of user suggested alternatives.
Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

A microphone that is very sensitive to vibrations.
I wonder if a piezoelectric microphone could work for asmr. It would work for heart beats because they are very sensitive to vibrations. There actually is a patent on such a device. https://patents.google.com/patent/US8320576B1/en . I have actually built a piezoelectric microphone, it involves some soldering. My design is here: https://github.com/Supermagnum/double-gain Sadly aisler doesn't offer kitted parts anymore, just the circuit board. One has too look at the schematic diagram to figure out the number of components and the values of them because there is no list of components.

IC that can be both a separate buffer and amplifier
This circuit runs on phantom power, is balanced and you just have to change r11 and r13 to something like 500 ohm to get 11DB gain. https://github.com/Supermagnum/double-gain

DIY hydrophone recordings, made today.
I used: https://github.com/Supermagnum/double-gain and a Tascam DR-40X.

Resistor values for a Cascode FET amplifier, with 3.3 megaohm input impedance.
I haven't done any analysis the cascode setup yet,- and I am unsure if I will. It's just easier to use two op amps: https://github.com/Supermagnum/double-gain/blob/main/double-gain.pdf

A couple of DIY preamplifiers for piezoelectric elements.
This one uses two NE5534 op amps, gain is set with two resistors ( R2 and R13 ). 25 to 39 dB range. Easy to solder. https://github.com/Supermagnum/double-gain Works in simulator for electronics.
- My attempt at a preamplifier for a piezoelectric element. It has unbalanced input, balanced output, runs on 48 phantom power and uses two Opamps.
- My attempt at a preamplifier for a piezoelectric element, it has a unbalanced input, balanced output, for +48 volt phantom power.

Filling the inside of a DIY hydrophone.
I have attached my piezoelectric impedance buffer/preamplifier designs here: https://github.com/Supermagnum/piezoelectric

What are some alternatives?
When comparing double-gain and piezoelectric you can also consider the following projects:
C64-PSU-Combi - A PSU for the Commodore C64 and up to two 1541-II floppy disk drives
izabela-desktop - A proof of concept text-to-speech application allowing global typing. Can be used over applications such as voice chats, games and much more.
