Mail server on own dedicated server, it is good idea?
We still run multiple own mail servers for sending 100.000 transactional emails per month. For GDPR reasons and because we have existing contracts with our customers which name all our used IT suppliers, which we don't want to touch to add a new one. We started with iRedMail, now use mailu (fewer moving parts, IMHO).

What's the simplest solution for sending transactional emails via SMTP on a linux server?
Currently we do that with iRedMail in a Docker container, but it has a lot of moving parts (Postfix, Dovecot, Nginx, MySQL, Amavisd-new, SpamAssassin, ClamAV, RoundCube) that can potentially fail.
- Webmail (roundcube, rainloop, etc.) without IMAP/SMTP

What Are Some Self-Hosted Applications That You Would Like To See?
We use iRedMail in Docker as mail server, works for 250.000 transactional emails per month.

Issues with urandom + Docker due to DSM kernel
It looks like I'm not the only person who has faced this. apache-based images require buster, for instance, and some docker images that rely on Ruby face issues too (for example, I decided to try setting up Postal but it looks like it's facing the same issues).

Previously I’ve used Postal, which is not simple but okay. Can I do better? Isn’t why I’m writing this?!
