Get rid of ugly alarm events, use our beautiful new syntax for delayed and periodic code execution
Super interesting project! I did something similar a little while ago, making use of structs in 2.3 to handle the timers instead of alarms or timelines: https://github.com/jhalek90/doLater

Collsion not working
If you do want accurate collisions, here is a simple example that resolves them with just a bit of math: https://github.com/badwrongg/gms2stuff/raw/master/simple_platformer.yyz

I'm trying to send the player to the warp in the new room, but it keeps warping relative to the warp in the previous room (the warps are positioned just off-screen, so the player should leave when touching the side of one and re-enters touching the other side of the other one)

Are menu settings supposed to be hard?
You can see some GUI stuff here in an older project I made: https://github.com/badwrongg/gms2stuff/raw/master/CRT_Shader.yyz
- How can I fix this horizontal collision code? If I move into a wall, my character just sticks & can't move horizontally.
- Wall Jump does not go high enough and if I move the player left/right while on the wall, the player gets stuck

Is this a bad idea?
Here is a simple project demonstrating the structure. https://github.com/badwrongg/gms2stuff/raw/master/template_3D.yyz

How do i get an object out of a wall after respawning
Here is a simple platformer template project with one-way platforms, moving platforms, wall jump, double jump, smooth camera with zoom and various other features: https://github.com/badwrongg/gms2stuff/raw/master/one_way_platform.yyz
