Help a noob, please?
If you want rock solid stability for everyday use and gaming, similar to Windows, and don't need cutting edge/bleeding edge software, then Linux Mint Cinnamon is probably the best choice. Even though I say that Mint/Cinnamon is the best choice based on the above requirements, I'm bias toward KDE which is even closer to Windows. If you want to check out a desktop environment that is closer to the Mac OS X UI then check out Pop_OS which has the Cosmic DE. It is a custom DE that is similar to Gnome. Gnome (and Cosmic) borrow ideas from Mac OS X UI and have their own unique features apart from OS X. In addition to Distowatch.com take a look at https://distrochooser.de/
