dfhack VS scripts

We've gathered some info about the challenges involved and some potential solutions here: https://github.com/DFHack/dfhack/issues/3574

My goal is to walk new players through an embark using the Dwarf Fortress Steam Release, along with an install of DF Hack. (Get DFHack on Steam or Github!) We'll have Dwarf Therapist on hand to look at dwarven details, and that covers everything except a visualizer for me. Along the way, I'll provide examples of the setup and tools I use to play Dwarf Fortress, as a guidepost for new players.

A: Either add to your Steam library from our Steam page or scroll to the latest release on our GitHub releases page, expand the "Assets" list, and download the file for your platform (e.g. dfhack-XX.XX-rX-Windows-64bit.zip.

Please report any issues (or feature requests) on the DFHack GitHub issue tracker. When reporting issues, please upload a zip file of your savegame and a zip file of your mods directory to the cloud and add links to the GitHub issue. Make sure your files are downloadable by "everyone with the link". We need your savegame to reproduce the problem and test the fix, and we need your active mods so we can load your savegame. Issues with savegames and mods attached get fixed first!

I mean. https://github.com/DFHack/dfhack/releases and then click the top one for your system. Or read the installation guide.

Glad you got it figured out! There's a fix script in progress (https://github.com/DFHack/scripts/pull/635) that essentially does exactly what you did, just automatically. Hopefully we'll be able to get it into a future version of DFHack so this issue doesn't affect other players too!

If that's related to the equipment corruption bugs, then DFhack's fix/corrupt-equipment might help.

The DFHack script does allows you to set the starting site and go anywhere in the world, but it doesn't enable you to change the destination using the map.
