I have 49 add-ons enabled, how can I switch between a different configuration of addons as needed ? (other than running a private window)
23. Default Bookmark Folder 3.1.0 Allows you to choose the default bookmark location folder and quickly bookmark pages there via a dedicated icon. https://github.com/teddy-gustiaux/default-bookmark-folder

Lifelong Chrome user switching to Firefox, are there any extensions that are a MUST on the browser?
Default Bookmark Folder-- I really hate where Firefox puts the bookmarks if I don't have this, CAN'T find them. This solves the problem.

Looking for a way to set specific bookmarks folders as default for specific websites
Yeah, it seems there is an older similar issue https://github.com/teddy-gustiaux/default-bookmark-folder/issues/42 which isn't under active development, but ... to be frank, adding code to another project is almost always a lot more effort, which i currently am not willing to invest. Creating a simple standalone addon, is all i'll offer ATM.

Extension to make tabs dropped onto bookmarks toolbar go to dropped location, not beginning or end of list?
If you have the Default Bookmark Folder extension installed, it has some compatibility issues with Firefox 85. Version 3.1.0 probably fixes the problem you've described, but it wrecks import of bookmarks.html files or restores of bookmarks.json(lz4) files. Follow the bug fix progress (and/or report new bugs) here: https://github.com/teddy-gustiaux/default-bookmark-folder/issues

Can't export bookmarks
Do you mean that your bookmarks disappear when you export them? If you have the Default Bookmark Folder add-on, this may be another issue: https://github.com/teddy-gustiaux/default-bookmark-folder/issues
- Cant add websites to bookmark toolbar
- Numerous problems with the bookmarks menu

Show HN: I made a CLI tool to create web extensions with no build configuration
I’ve been pretty happy with web-ext, I’m curious what abstractions and configurations Extensions.js avoids comparatively. I’m assuming you’ll still need a manifest.json, and it looks like both use npm/package.json for dependencies.

Is it possible to install an extension trough command line?
Yes, web-ext https://github.com/mozilla/web-ext does this.

Awesome Userscripts
> On a side node, if anyone has resource about how to dev/debug userscript properly, I'm all ears. I found it super inconvenient and tedious when doing it myself, and I often have to manually copy paste stuff back and forth.
Develop it as an extension with the script as your content_script, and use web-ext [1] to run it. You can then develop in your regular editor, use your browser's extension debugging tools, and web-ext will automatically reload it when you change stuff.
Most of my extensions use a .user.js file as their content_script, which I can also publish directly to Greasy Fork.
