Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Made a fun little strategy game inspired by old DOS game "Drug Wars", with pyqt. Available as a python package, but I also made a windows binary via pyinstaller.
It's a strategy game based around "discovering" new planets to trade materials with, with the goal of making as much money as possible in a limited number of turns. Not really much of a game designer, I made it because I enjoyed "Drug Wars" years ago and wanted create something similar. https://github.com/eriknyquist/deep_space_trader

Help/Advice on starting out with first big project
For some ideas for the app, I wrote a small weather app in Python using PyQt5 a while ago which might come in useful. The write-up is a bit sparse but the source code is also on Github. It used a public weather API (better option than web scraping if available).
