what is the best/easiest way to render text as image with ruby on rails?
You'd probably be best using imagemagick, https://github.com/minimagick/minimagick for example would allow you to create an image that is just some text. There are a bunch of tutorials across the net on how to pass commands into imagemagick to do this.
