First ever DIY with my neighbor. This stuff is too cool.
I ended up finding a project call Godenerg that allows you to run a service that controls the charging via the console port, but not before I'd toasted a set of batteries with bad charging practices.

Victron afficianados: How do you monitor your system?
Currently I use Node Red to talk to my crappy Chinese inverter/charger via godenerg over USB. But I've used the BLE interface on the Victron MPPT charger and liked the info it has, and would like to get that into my own system for logging and alerts.
