Help me make VSCode telemetry clearer and require consent by upvoting this issue
I would love to see alternative editors get more market share but VSCode extensions lock many people in VSCode. And that hurts the community because it gives Microsoft power to make controversial decisions and enforce their products. It would be amazing to see a tool that lets you run VSCode extension out of VSCode. I have been doing research about that but it's a hard thing to do.

VSCode update causing problems for 130K+ users with no fix in sight
Recently, VSCode pushed an update that also caused some problems in the JavaScript code which took effect within a approximately 20-day timeframe. The change was only for improving the boot time by a mere 5%. Unfortunately, this impacted some widely used plugins like Customize UI (130K+ active installs) which you can read about here: https://github.com/iocave/customize-ui/issues/156.
- VSCode: Customize UI is probably not going to work anymore

VSCode 1.74 totally breaks CustomizeUI; you may need to reinstall.

Does there exist an extension that makes the find feature similar to Atom's?
I much prefer the Atom version. Is there some way to replicate this in VS Code, either via a plugin or something else? Would it be possible to make a plugin to do this or use something like customize-ui?

Tools that keep me productive
It all starts with the editor. Visual Studio Code (VS Code) is my go-to editor. I was using the Insider’s Edition for the longest time, but some extensions would try to log in and redirect to VS Code regular edition, so I decided to go back to it. That said, VS Code Insider's is very stable.

Asynchronous Programming in C#
C# is very good as a language, have developed in it for 5+ years. The problem is the gap between what MSFT promises to management and actually delivers to developers. You really really need to fully read the fine print, think of the omissions in documentation and implement a proof-of-concept that almost implements the full solution to find out the hidden gotchas.
For example, even probably their best product VS Code only got reasonable multiple screens support last year: https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/issues/10121#issuecommen...
And then, on the other end of the spectrum, you have Teams.
