https://crosshare.org/ is worth a look. Lets you build a grid and then 'autofills' suggested words around the words you enter. (And then you can overwrite the suggestions, and it gives more).

Hi all, I've gotten pretty into constructing over the past 6 months (and more seriously over the past 2). My goal is to get one lightly-themed mini up on Crosshare everyday. There's a few full-size and midi puzzles up as well. Would love any and all feedback (especially from those that enjoy bite-sized puzzles)!

If you're looking to upload your crosswords somewhere for other people to solve them, the go-to site for that seems to be Crosshare.

Crosshare makes barred grids and has a built in dictionary - and its free https://crosshare.org/

https://crosshare.org is a free online tool that's great for making and sharing puzzles. Not sure how close it'll take you.

Someone linked this crossword site awhile ago - https://crosshare.org/ They're mostly in the American style that I'm not as into but they're free so who cares.

Check out https://crosshare.org/ it has a pretty good interface for making crossword puzzles.

You can export it and upload it online to a site like https://crosshare.org/ or https://downforacross.com/ to give people a link to play it.

I agree remote management is the "least convenient" aspect of SQLite. If you have control over the remote VM where the DB is hosted, you can also run something like ClouDBeaver[0], Datasette[1] or sqlite-web[2] as a Docker container, then connect to it from your laptop.

The reason I wrote litexplore was that those approaches require exposing extra ports, managing authentication, etc. With litexplore, you just need the sqlite3 CLI (compiled with the JSON1 extension) installed in the VM and a way to access it over SSH.

litexplore is still in early stages and I have some updates planned in the following 2 months, but the basics are working.

Now, if only they would stop trying to be cute and give their releases actual version names instead of castor and pollux. There's also a version 20.0.6, but the latest release on GitHub is 1.2.0, but the changelog in the README says 20.0.6 is the latest.
