copy as markdown
Not sure what platform you're editing on with SN but if you fire up a tab in your browser of choice with SN you could use this extension to copy as markdown very easily. I use it for work all the time. Set a few hotkeys up and it's virtually instant. https://github.com/yorkxin/copy-as-markdown

Ask HN: Do you use browser extensions, and if so, do you worry about security?
That extension appears to be open source, so you could look at the source and/or ask the developer about the permissions.

Ask HN: What is your replacement for Google search
Right now I am okay with DDG. The amount of times I have resorted to tacking on the !g has only been decreasing.
I also use one extra thing, an extension called 'highlight or hide search engine results'[1]. I have first party documentation highlighted in blue, good community sites in green, lower quality sites greyed out, and content farms hidden completely. I've also been storing page highlights in raindrop.io[2]
Between the two of these I spend less overall time actually reviewing the search results and it is easier for me to return to good results that I found in the past.

Do any of you ever google a question and add “reddit” after the question because surprisingly reddit will get you straight to the answer rather than having to go through an annoying spammy website?
Im using https://github.com/pistom/hohser for that purpose!

Greasemonkey alternative with cloud-support
I don't know how often that would be a problem, but I know it's an issue for at least one extension, as discussed here (users who fill up Sync'd storage have to switch the extension to using non-Sync'd storage): https://github.com/pistom/hohser/issues/140
