Ask HN: Favorite Random Markup Language
Recently, I've been pretty interested in hyper-specific human-readable markup languages for more specific tasks. Things like CookLang[0] (recipes), Traindown[1] (workout logging), and Fountain[2] (writing screenplays).
I was wondering what other kinds of similar projects people have seen?

cooklang-rs: A superset of cooklang and related tools written in rust
Cooklang is a markup language for cooking recipes. The original implementation was in Swift. There were implementations in many languages, even in rust, but that one didn't pass the original tests. That, combined with my desire to build a cooking recipe collection, started this project.

Question/discussion
There is an open source recipe markup language called Cooklang and there is an Obsidian plugin to display and edit cooklang but is hasn't been updated in a while. There is also a tool to import recipes from many sites and convert them to cooklang.

Ask HN: Meal Planning App?
I'm in a similar situation as yourself and I've been looking to do something similar.
One tool I've had bookmarked for this is Cooklang (https://cooklang.org/) which seems to cover most of the needs.

When Engineers Think Cooking/Recipes Could Be More Enjoyable
IMO, What we need is a website that is a combination of something like Cooklang[0] and a git forge - This way you can "fork" ;) recipes to modify and maintain attributions and have a machine readable format to convert weights, calculate dynamic portions etc.
Does anything like this exist?

Show HN: Famnom – Nutrition tracker and meal planner for families
Hi everyone, I’m the author of Famnom. I built it after trying various nutrition tracking apps but didn’t find anything that fit my needs.
What is it?
Famnom is an easy-to-use macro and micro-nutrient tracker, and meal planner. Choose from a database of foods or add your own, create recipes and log meals. Set custom nutrition goals or use FDA RDIs for macros - calories, fats, proteins, carbs and micro-nutrients - Magnesium, Calcium, Zinc, Iron, etc. Use MealPlanner to generate daily meal plans based on nutrition goals, available items and taste preferences. Sample user journeys:

Search/Setup Kitchen: https://github.com/famnom/nourish/blob/master/journeys/search_kitchen_flow.gif
Nutrition Goals: https://github.com/famnom/nourish/blob/master/journeys/nutrition_goals_flow.gif
Mealplanner: https://github.com/famnom/nourish/blob/master/journeys/mealplanner_flow.gif
Why?
My main goal was to eliminate nutritional supplements in my diet, and use fresh foods and recipes as much as possible. Famnom can help:
1. Track macro nutrients and micro nutrients, such as Vitamin D, Fiber, Magnesium, etc consumed per day. Connect with Apple Health for trends over longer periods of time.
2. Generate meal plans based on available foods and recipes in Kitchen, nutrition preferences and taste preferences.
3. Share kitchens with other family members.
Famnom has worked for me personally. I was able to eliminate almost all supplements from my diet. I hope it can help others with their health goals.
Tech Stack:
Application backend uses Django + Postgres. Deployed on Heroku. iOS and Android apps built with Flutter.
