You'd need: - hrsh7th/nvim-cmp with set up LSP source (hrsh7th/cmp-nvim-lsp). - neovim/nvim-lspconfig. - R language server installed. This is a regular R package, can be installed from CRAN.

LSP omnifunc fuzzy completion?
3 projects | reddit.com/r/neovim | 30 Dec 2021
nvim-cmp is just the autocompletion engine w/ fuzzy matching and other filtering options. To get items to be filled from cmp you will need sources, for example: hrsh7th/cmp-nvim-lsp plugin will provide items from a LSP server to cmp, so you can get items you can fuzzy match in. Another one is items from buffers: hrsh7th/cmp-buffer
Problem with nvim-cmp and cssls

Hello together, First of all, I want to apologize to bother you with my config problem, but I already created an issue about this sometime ago, at the appropriate repository for cmp-nvim-lsp, but with no response, and I am getting desperate.
How to configure ALE and floating windows?

For auto-completion with nvim lsp, you can use nvim-cmp with cmp-nvim-lsp
Small nvim-cmp and builtin nvim-lspconfig 'capabilities' question

Recommended autocompletion plugin
11 projects | reddit.com/r/neovim | 24 Sep 2021
For cmp you will need the autocompletion engine and the sources to use. Sources are plugins for cmp that will populate the popup menu with items from different contexts, like from nvim-lsp, ultisnips, vsnip, etc. So you will need to install nvim-cmp along with sources like nvim-lsp source and ultisnips source. Finally, you will need the setup() function to add the expansion trigger, list the sources, add mappings, etc. You will just have to read the docs on the README in the repo for some example code. Unfortunately, those examples are not great to copy/paste if you have no clue what it's doing.
Looks like the nvim-compe plugin is going to be deprecated, replaced by nvim-cmp (eventually)

Hey, thanks for sharing, I am able to get it working, however, I have doubts... In this line, what exactly does "nvim_lsp" means? I mean, if I have installed a source for ex. hrsh7th/cmp-nvim-lsp, then shouldn't it be "cmp-nvim-lsp" as source name? Providing "nvim_lsp" source name works for me but not "cmp-nvim-lsp"!!

Any kind of “it just works” language support?
4 projects | reddit.com/r/neovim | 1 Oct 2022
You could use: - lsp-zero.nvim to use the native Neovim client - coc.nvim to use a client written in Node that includes it's own plugin ecosystem. - kickstart.nvim if you want a minimal config to build on top of it later. - any Neovim distribution like NvChad, LunarVim, AstroVim, etc, if you want a IDE like experience out of the box without that much control over your config.

If what you are looking for is a base configuration I suggest you take a look at kickstart.nvim. This is a "template configuration" that you can copy and modify to fit your needs.
I have no idea what I need...

You could start with kickstart.nvim, it provides you with the essentials: sane defaults, lsp, fuzzy finder, syntax highlight via treesitter, git integration.
Save yourself some time and avoid NvChad

I would throw out kickstart.nvim and suggest this as your base and override where required. LSP, LSP server installs, treesitter, completion, snippets, comments and a statusline, all in under 400 LOC

Roadmap for learning NeoVim. What's the minimum I need to know to turn NeoVim into an IDE?
14 projects | reddit.com/r/neovim | 7 Aug 2022
kickstart.nvim is a launch point for your personal nvim configuration. ..meant to be used as a starting point for a user's own configuration; remove the things you don't use and add what you miss. This configuration serves as the reference configuration for the lspconfig wiki.
