Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Tipi, a new solution to build C++ projects easier
I've been coding in C++ for about 9 years and I spent the first 5-6 years incapable of compiling something on my own. I wouldn't have been able to exist outside of our in-house build management system. I simply didn't have the need and I didn't bother. Since then I came up with Cmake Project Creator which also eases the creation of build scripts and dependency management, but it's just a pet project, nowhere near Tipi's capabilities.

Tell HN: The Turing.com hiring platform is complete nonsense
Been spending a bunch of time trying to get on their hiring platform. After a bunch of surveys on soft skills, assessments for selected tech stacks are required to receive job opportunities.
It seems like the assessment tests are written by a machine and/or scraped entirely from questions in online repositories.

Almost all the questions are like that. I also figured out that a bunch of the questions seem to be copied word for word from online repositories like https://github.com/Ebazhanov/linkedin-skill-assessments-quizzes/blob/main/android/android-quiz.md.
Tried to speak to a person about all the issues which make taking an assessment impossible, and just got more bots.
I'm sure many are looking for jobs, so figured this would save people a bunch of time.

For developers out there how long did it took you before reaching 6 digits salary?
What I observed why I got numerous job offers on LinkedIn was that I have skill assessment badges in my profile, which aids recruiters in finding a potential candidate for the job. But I hack it and answered their skill assessment by using an answer bank.
