What is the proper language markup type we should use for a MakeFile code snippet?
Alternatively, you can use the cm-editor-syntax-highlight-obsidian plugin which allows syntax highlighting for code blocks in the editor using CodeMirror which also supports GNUMake syntax highlighting.
-
Is there a way to add new languages for code block syntax highlighting?
I've personally been using the cm-editor-syntax-highlight plugin, which has covered all of my uses.
-
Code Block Syntax Highlighting
Side note, there's this plugin: Enable Syntax Highlight which makes the highlighting works in real time but I tried it already and it doesn't seem to support autohotkey script.
-
Disable Markdown Functionality
Codeblocks and MathJax are meant to solve these issues by defining starts and stops of such elements and ignoring markdown syntax conflicts in between.
-
Code syntax highlighting in preview mode
Basically the title. Is there a plugin similar to cm-editor-syntax-highlight-obsidian that also works in preview mode? Being able to edit with the highlighted syntax is nice, but then switching over to preview it's back to the boring and hard to read light grey on dark grey.

New to obsidian
That said: - I assume you will be doing at least some highlighting / annotating of pdfs and / or websites. In that case, you might want to look into either plugins that automatically import your highlights from other tools (Zotero, Kindle or another e-ink device, Hypothes.is, Readwise, etc), or into plugins that allow for highlighting PDFs directly inside Obsidian (Obsidian Annotator). - Templater is useful for most folks that have to create many notes with repeated layout. If you have notes for each lesson, you could have a lesson note template, to create them faster and keep them consistent. - As a student, you have to keep track of your schedule when it comes to classes, exams, etc. - you could use a plugin to sync your existing Google calendar, or keep your calendar entirely in Obsidian (Full Calendar).

Any hope for having PDF annotation good as Logseq has?
You should check out this plugin, it greatly enhances pdf annotation from within obsidian https://github.com/elias-sundqvist/obsidian-annotator

Struggling with the "Annotator" plugin and integration of highlights into my writing.
What I really like about Logseq is their pdf annotation and highlighting feature. You can open the pdf in Logseq, highlight text, drag it into your document, then work with it. Upon clicking on a highlight, it opens the pdf at the page of the highlighted text. I found that the "Obsidian-Annotator" plugin in Obsidian can do the same.

PDF annotation automatically and by default when opening a PDF. Is it possible without another plugin?
I am aware of other plugins (such as obsidian-annotator) but since I'm already using MarkMind and I have PDF annotation capabilities, I thought it would be nice to conveniently use the features I already have without installing another plugin. Is this possible?

Is there a plugin that lets me write notes along PDF slides?
Have a look at https://github.com/elias-sundqvist/obsidian-annotator
- How add Obsidian tags to pdf files?
- Need a research app where I can highlight and annotate PDFs, then easily go through all my notes organized by tags.
- A different pdf renderer?
-
Best setup for self study I have found so far
Install the Annotator community plugin and follow the setup instructions.
