Issue on Lineage OS 20 - Redmi 8
LineageOS is volunteer produced and maintained, and outside of the device support charter requirements are necessarily expected to be free of bug or error in any given build.
-
it is possible to install lineageos on Xiaomi 12t Pro?
If it's not there (it's not) and you want it to be, feel free to submit a port once you've got one to meet the device requirements and decided you'd like to maintain it.

question
Everything works linked to https://github.com/LineageOS/charter/blob/master/device-support-requirements.md

Android 12-based LineageOS 19 arrives for the OnePlus 8 series
LineageOS introduced a "Device Support Requirements" a few years ago. I think that's when they changed their focus to stability over anything else.
-
Holy Battery Life Batman
Unofficial LineageOS does not have to meet the strict LineageOS Device Support Requirements Charter
-
What does it entail to port/LineageOS to device that either has no LOS ROM or has an older version only?
Learn everything required to generate a build that satisfies the device requirements, then sign up to be a maintainer for that device and maintain the build
-
I'm preparing for the inevitable End of Life for the 7pro and wanted to ask the community what are some of the best roms that will keep this phone usable after OnePlus stops supporting it. Roms that offer a smooth transition from Oxygen OS are a definite plus, but it's not a deal breaker.
It's essentially stock Android - be ready to lose some OxygenOS features - but they're rock solid on the devices I use official builds (eg: OnePlus 8 Pro, same maintainer as the 7 Pro). And it's important to use official builds because they need to comply with this long list of requirements, reducing the number of things that don't work.
-
probably a stupid question.. but here it goes.
You'd have to either wait for a volunteer maintainer to get a device-specific build up to the requirements, or become that volunteer maintainer yourself.

Device support requirements question

Can I be any more private, whilst still accomplishing my goal?
My goal for today is to get photos as good as Google Camera, on my Graphene'd Pixel 4. GrapheneOS's camera just wasn't cutting it for me, so I installed this: https://github.com/lukaspieper/Gcam-Services-Provider And then Google Camera and Google Photos. I'm not logged into my Google account for Google Photos, and I used the above link in order to not install GSF.

Is there an alternative for stock Android Camera?
Its also important to note, that this app only works without google services if you install a fake-version of those services or have microG installed
-
OnePlus 9 Pro with LineageOS Camera is scam
If you have MicroG installed, you should be able to use it directly after installing and configuring it. In case you don't have MicroG you can also use this app which fakes the Google dependencies required to run GCam.

Ask HN: How have you deGoogled your life?
Pixel 4a with Graphene OS, only GCam Services Provider (https://github.com/lukaspieper/Gcam-Services-Provider) to be able to use Google Camera. Implementation is super simple and it shouldn't take long to see that it actually does nothing.
