Alternatives to Cantata
Hi, I wanted to start using MPD but sadly I just saw that Cantata has stopped the development. Is there any valid alternative as a qt gui client? I see that most gui alternatives are gtk based and since I'm using KDE I'd prefer a qt one. Thank you.

Suggest some local music player for debian based distros
For now I stay with Cantata as it once was Kubuntu's default player: https://github.com/CDrummond/cantata (archived). Not in active development but still available in Ubuntu 22.04 LTS repos and therefore I assume also in Debian. Don't think however it has the modern looks you want.

Finally made the switch to Arch from Windows 10 ; _ ;
Cantata is a very good option in my opinion. And I learned recently about ymuse, which is another MPD client and could be interesting to check out. Just in case you'd like to migrate to a native alternative in the future.

Linux binary doesn't run when I create a symlink to it
In the words of Jerry Seinfeld, what's the deal with binary symlinking not working? Example, the ProjectM visualizer I downloaded and moved to a more static directory. It runs fine in that directory but when I symlink it via KDE's Dolphin by drag/dropping to my desktop, it does nothing. Same when I try to make a shortcut in KDE's application launcher. Why is it so to be like that for when you do it to get your shortcut?

You might give Milkdrop a try. It started as a Winamp visualization plugin. It has its own scripting language and a ton of presets you can poke at to figure out how things work. I'm not sure what state Winamp is in these days, but Milkdrop has been ported to work as a Foobar2000 plugin called ProjectM.
