Is there an equivalent of calibredb for research papers?
I use calibredb to manage my ebooks (mainly epubs) and I'm quite happy with it. I was wondering if there was an emacs package that would do the same for research papers. Namely, allowing to

baca: TUI ebook reader
On a side-note, I use nov.el is an epub reader for Emacs. Like a terminal, Emacs is used for viewing and working with text, but it has a GUI and therefore is not limited by having to emulate a teletype terminal. As a result nov.el offers variable-width fonts and inline-images. Also it integrates with a Calibre database via calibredb.el. But for me what matters most is that I can navigate, search and copy text with keybindings that I'm used to from Emacs, e.g. useful for finding and copying quotes. But there are even less Emacs users than there are people comfortable in a terminal, so I admit that's not for everyone.

Is there anything that can replace Calibre?
That first part is also entirely achievable by simply making a new UI & reusing the rest.

A new epub reader in Emacs: nov-xwidget.el
A somewhat relevant plug: for those not aware, calibredb (https://github.com/chenyanming/calibredb.el) from the same author is an excellent package if you use calibre for managing your books library.

Is there a way to create a link to a specific library note or reference?
Zutilo can create a "select item link" to any item in your Zotero database. That can be pasted into a document in another programme (I've tested it with Word, Joplin, Evernote and TheBrain) and it will go directly to the item specified in the Zotero interface. If that item is a note subordinated to an entry, the note will be selected, not the entry.
