Help with real time robot EtherCat controller
I am trying to build a hard real time controller for a 6 axis robot using EtherCat. I have the slaves(motor drivers) which work great, I have implemented a controller using SOEM and the real time kernel for Ubuntu. It works fairly well, but there is still a lot of jitter. Can someone who has experience with hard real time systems give me some kind of advice. Anything would be really helpful, maybe a schematic,a simple explanation of which is the right road to take, maybe a book or what I need to study ?? Thank you for your time.
