Self hosted bitwarden server showing Version 2023.1.1
They recently pushed an update for the self-hosted web version from 2023.4.1 to 2023.4. After doing another update, my web version shows as 2023.4.2. So try to update again.

You can star this github repo https://github.com/bitwarden/self-host and when it gets updated there is probably an update available at that point

Deploying self-hosted Bitwarden with Puppet?
We are basically using the docker image(s) provided by Bitwarden, but there seems to be no way to use environment variables or so for the bitwarden.sh install... The run.sh script itself only uses the bash command read https://github.com/bitwarden/self-host/blob/master/run.sh

Password manager for life
Just wanted to point out. Bitwarden IS open source, you can self-host Bitwarden by using these bash scripts. Vaultwarden is a open source project that implements a lot of the features in Rust instead of C#, but is overall not apart of Bitwarden.

On prem ./bitwarden.sh does not update to new version (due to schema change?)
I've found that getting notifications of releases for this github repo: https://github.com/bitwarden/self-host lets me know when I can update to the latest on prem version.

Self-Hosting Bitwarden on DigitalOcean
> Bitwarden requires at least 2GB of RAM, so make sure to choose a plan with enough memory during creation
Yeah, I recalled that for-real Bitwarden uses dotnet and mssql so I'm sure Digital Ocean loves the situation where someone needs a huge instance
I was curious given the mention of "docker-compose" how exactly that worked (did it have them set with "restart: always" and similar operational sanity?) but while digging into it:
Having a self-modifying script that curls from some malware-looking domain defeats the purpose of having tagged scripts, doesn't it? https://github.com/bitwarden/server/blob/v1.48.1/scripts/bit...
Don't worry, even the redirected "self-host" version does the same trick for inexplicable reasons: https://github.com/bitwarden/self-host/blob/master/bitwarden...
I never found the docker-compose files, so I guess their emitted as a side-effect of running the "bitwarden/setup" docker image or something: https://github.com/bitwarden/self-host/blob/master/run.sh#L1...

FYI: Self-hosted Bitwarden scripts have new home/update check proxy URL
We have moved our self-hosted scripts to their own repository (https://github.com/bitwarden/self-host). Your 'bitwarden.ps1' script has been automatically upgraded. Please run it again.

KDE Plasma 6.0 Is Enabling Wayland by Default
Another regression is that KeePassX/C AutoType doesn't work with Wayland, so now instead of a simple CTRL+V in KeePassXC, I have to separately copy and paste the user and the pass.
