Rhythm games have a giant problem that usually goes unadressed.
Reactive sounds in rhythm games cannot be done in sync with normal audio protocols (which in Windows includes mixing audio from multiple sources). However, you can fake it by playing the sound predictively. When the input arrives, or doesn't arrive, the game can then continue the sound or cut it off depending on the outcome. https://bemuse.ninja/ does this. Beat Saber does this as well with the latency setting, and with some extra logic. If you fail multiple notes and aren't clearly even trying, then the sounds fade away.

Ask HN: What do people use for documentation sites these days?
If & when relevant: from looking into self-hosted search options to accompany docusaurus, https://github.com/cmfcmf/docusaurus-search-local looks like one potential candidate (search is performed locally; so your mileage may vary based on the document set size).
