Heya, excellent points and I'm keen to read more of your essay! You're right that this is a huge subject! I started a charity here in NZ to help address one aspect: how do we foster positive human-AI relationships? By relationship, I simply mean understanding, creation, and usage. My take is that we need to get people (Kiwis in specific!) focused on the creation aspect of AI and not get bogged down in the sometimes sensationalistic usage aspect of AI. Meaning, let's focus on making AI what we want it to be. If you want to find out more, we're at http://bemorehuman.org and we're keen for any feedback/contributions.
