It has already been done by a third party developer https://github.com/aido/app-sskr-check - you'll also have the option to use Recover with your own setup if you wish

I have been working on a Ledger app called app-sskr-check for generating Shamir's Secret Shares, similar to what Ledger's new Recover service does. App is available on github for people to review.
