What CLI tool will blow your mind? (written in rust)
check out https://github.com/Extrawurst/gitui (it actually TUI)
-
Lazygit - Manage your git repository inside Neovim
personally I like Neogit much better than Lazygit. The only other tool I would consider (also external program) is gitui, but the Magit keybindings of Neogit are great and kept me from switching.

Ask HN: What is your Git rebase/commit/push flow?
I used tig for a bit because it was the nicest way I could find to do line-level staging in a terminal. But was really impressed with gitui https://github.com/extrawurst/gitui so I've switched to that

Command line tools to boost your productivity
GitUI - TUI for git with adding, committing, diffing, etc. My most used tool currently
-
Can I pop out the git extension in a stand alone window?
Somehow irrelevant because I understand that GitKraken has way more features and is easier to use, but I suggest you give GitUI a try. Although it's terminal-based, it covers most of my use-cases for GitKraken.

Lazygit: A simple terminal UI for Git commands
i've been using [gitui](https://github.com/extrawurst/gitui) for that. lazygit does seem like it has more features though
-
tui-rs Pause rendering to let vim have access to stdout?
The visualization can be solved via alternate screen but if you also capture input events this will also be an issue. I ran into the same situation with GitUI when you open VI as an external editor: https://github.com/extrawurst/gitui
What are some alternatives?
lazygit - simple terminal UI for git commands
tig - Text-mode interface for git
delta - A syntax-highlighting pager for git, diff, and grep output
gitsigns.nvim - Git integration for buffers
neogit - magit for neovim
lazygit.nvim - Plugin for calling lazygit from within neovim.
vim-fugitive - fugitive.vim: A Git wrapper so awesome, it should be illegal
visidata - A terminal spreadsheet multitool for discovering and arranging data
tig-explorer.vim - Vim plugin to use Tig as a git client. Seamless switching between vim and Tig with opening in the same buffer.
vscode-gitlens - Supercharge Git inside VS Code and unlock untapped knowledge within each repository — Visualize code authorship at a glance via Git blame annotations and CodeLens, seamlessly navigate and explore Git repositories, gain valuable insights via rich visualizations and powerful comparison commands, and so much more
magit - It's Magit! A Git porcelain inside Emacs.
vim-floaterm - :star2: Terminal manager for (neo)vim
