awesome-react VS create-react-app

At the time it organically grew in a year or two, i've added my projects to the "awesome x" lists (like this one https://github.com/enaqx/awesome-react) but thats pretty much it. Overall I think it was a great experience to learn from but I wish I didn't spend so much time on it.

I can’t get my hands on a beautiful UI framework I saw in one Show HN project few months ago. I recommend finding some friend with modern experience or at least some youtube tutorials or at least some learning course. That would help you to catch up on the best way to bootstrap your first project. Then you can practice.
