awesome-pion VS neko

I see a lot of WebRTC usage just in the LAN. WebRTC sees a lot of usage outside of conferencing!

I'm fiddling now and then on an alternative conferencing frontend(Pyrite - https://github.com/garage44/pyrite) for Galene(https://galene.org), which is a SFU that uses Pion.

AV1 support is already available in libwebrtc!

So when I started building Pion the target use case was to make it easier to build scalable servers. Instead of interacting with a WebRTC servers REST API to query information/load balance I wanted to have it all in one code base. It also is really useful to have Media+Transport decoupled. Lots of use cases I didn't realize grew out of that.

Pion WebRTC is a Go implementation of WebRTC. If you haven't used it before check out awesome-pion or example-webrtc-applications for what people are doing. We maintain a feature list and other helpful resources in our README.md

I personally use neko-rooms with my friends for this purpose. Just let's all share a browser in a browser with plenty of options (Firefox, Chromium, Brave, etc.). You can also just use standard neko if you don't need multiple rooms.

Hey, you do you. It just sounds like an expensive way to avoid owning the hardware you want to debug to me.

If you're having fun, then continue by all means. I've just been nerd sniped by your cloud costs and I'm having flashbacks to seeing six-figure monthly AWS bills at startups that refused to buy their own GPU compute.

You could spin up something like Kasm Workspaces, Neko or Docker Webtop.

I ran into neko https://github.com/m1k1o/neko recently which has similar. It's more application centric than desktop centric, but both offer multi-player experiences & I just think that is the absolute coolest.
