Rust GUI library for video playback?
If you go this way, you'll have to decode video through the FFmpeg API which is not as simple as it is via the ffmpeg CLI. Check out [av-metrics-decoders](Ihttps://github.com/rust-av/av-metrics/tree/master/av_metrics_decoders), they have a simple, working decoder implementation.

A small image comparison crate: image-compare
I wrote a small crate for comparing images using a few different methods. The repository is on github, the docs are on docs.rs. To see some demo images you can check my homepage.
What are some alternatives?
When comparing av-metrics and image-compare you can also consider the following projects:
fta - Rust-based static analysis for TypeScript projects
imgproc-rs - A Rust image processing library
rust-web-framework-comparison - A comparison of some web frameworks and libs written in Rust
image-hdr - An implementation of HDR Radiance Estimation using Poisson Photon Noise Estimator for creating HDR image from a set of images
